Business of Brows

Building Benjamins on eyebrow at a time.

I loved my conversation with Kristin in Episode 1. She is so much fun! Besides being an awesome person there are three key principles I took away from our conversation that we can apply in business and in life.

1. I don't care how old you are, or what stage of life you are at you can always learn new skills and deploy those skills to the market place. What an inspiration, she has spent the last 25 years being a stay at home mom, domestic engineer, homemaking goddess, or what ever you want to call it; and she asks herself "what's next"? Kristin found something she enjoyed and was good at, found the training she needed and off to the races, no paralysis by analysis needed!

2. There aint no shame in her game! When promoting our business or ourselves to potential customers or employers there is a resistance for most of us to promote and market. This stigma persists whether we don't want to seem salesy, or with Social media psychologically dreading the possible trolls in the comment section, or our perceived perception or others perspective of our marketing efforts. It's ridiculous, unfounded fear! Kristin get's it and has unleashed the power of social media marketing.

3. Life is a balance game and she is a winner. She knows when to work and when to play. There is a desire for many of us to please people and customers with opening our calendars wide open to let them fall in anywhere. Kristin has mastered the art of setting her schedule and having business happen during the business hours she sets. Some may feel they could be missing out on business if they run such a strict calendar. However, following Kristin's pattern actually will build professionalism and help others understand you are mastering the balance game and your time is valuable, so they will be grateful to have some of it.

Thanks for listening and reading, go forth, be good, do good!
